I recently upgraded to CC and it was great for a few days.
Now it's really struggling to play back mixed AVHCD footage form my C100 and h264 footage from my 60D. Even in 1/4 playback mode it's incredible jerky/choppy and the application is generally very slow to respond. I've cleaned the media cache and trashed the prefs but nothing seems to be helping. I've got 16GB RAM, 13 allocated to Premiere Pro CC on an early 2011 MBP 2.3ghz Intel Core i7 with AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024MB, running OS X 10.8.4
Any advice? It's on the borderline of usability right now and I'm in the middle of 3 edits!!
How many hard drives (at what speed... 5400rpm or 7200rpm) and how much free space on each drive and where did you put your video files?
If you are using an external drive for video files, is it USB2 or USB3 or eSata?
it's 2 x 7200RPM 2TB 3.5" drives in a RAID enclosure configured as RAID0, connected via esata or FW800, doesn't matter. plenty of space - 2TB or so free.
not sure what you mean by "where did you put your video files" - they're just on that drive in a folder along with the project file. Media cache files are being stored on startup drive in default location...
