Steven L. Gotz Jul 16, 2013 10:41 PM (in response to Cmason123)I have never even heard of anyone tring to play video from a DVD directly on the timeline. Most people rip the DVD to a file and have that file on their hard drive.
Where did you get the video? Is the original footage from the camera shot to DVD?

Cmason123 Jul 17, 2013 6:05 AM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)We shot a video and then my camera man sent it to me through email. After I downloaded it to my old computer a couple of month ago. I burnt it to a black DVD. I imported the file on the DVD into premiere that is on my new computer and then I dragged it over to my time line. I do have the video also on a USB card if that helps?

joe bloe premiere Jul 17, 2013 6:16 AM (in response to Cmason123)Don't try to import the file directly from a DVD disk (or USB card),
copy the file to an internal drive first... then import.

John T Smith Jul 17, 2013 8:07 AM (in response to Cmason123)WHAT did you burn to that DVD, and WHAT is the codec of the video?
Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
What is a CODEC... a Primer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/546811
What CODEC is INSIDE that file? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037
.
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing
