Indesign doesn't edit PDF files.
There are ways to edit PDF files in Acrobat, however
What do you need to edit, exactly.
The company I work for creates flyers with graphics, however at the moment,
the flyers are being created outside of the office. I need to be able to
import the flyers and conduct spell checks and possibly move graphics. The
only problem is the files are PDF and thats the only way the outsource
will send them over
I found the spell check in acrobat but is there another method to check for
repeating text? (i.e. I can drive can drive to work today.)
What does the agreement with the outside contractor say regarding delivery of files? Does it specify PDF only?
There are plugins for ID from both Recosoft and Markzware that will open PDF as editable files in ID, but you may be opening a legal can of worms here if the contract specifies that you are to receive only the final output files (and you'll definitely alienate the contractor if you go behind their back).
As far as I know ID can spot a repeated word in spell check, but not a repeated string of words.
You'll get way more help and advise in the Acrobat forum.
There's no legal agreements, the company is in a conversion with graphic
designers, and we're trying to double check older flyers for grammatical
Thanks for the help
