Hi I have created a newsletter in BC using the Email marketing online tools to be emailed to clients but when I go to test that email (sent it to my personal gmail account) the image has a broken link.
From what I understand the image needs to be a direct link ie 'www.yoursite.com/images/picture01.jpg' however I don't have a site to put this image in.
I assumed that by uploading the image to BC (via insert image > IMAGE MANAGER > upload files) my image was stored somewhere in the Adobe 'BC Cloud' so therefore the image would be pulled from that source automatically (READ: magically via the Adobe cloud system). If this is not the case how do I find out the exact address for my image root so that I can paste that address into the image source dialog box?
Additionally I accidently uploaded my image in the image manager dialog box to the root folder and should have placed it into the 'images' folder, how can I move this image into that folder? (obviously drop and drag isn't working for me)
If you are using BC's email campaigns then your best bet is to upload your images using the File Manager-- like you said, create a folder inside your images folder for your campaign and upload all your images for the campaign to that folder... then in your campaign you should reference the images you uploaded as: http://mybcsite.com/images/my-campaign-folder/picture01.jpg
As for moving files in between folders and such-- I don't think it's really possible in the BC Admin's File Manager but your BC site is always accessible with SFTP so you can setup an FTP program to connect to your site via SFTP and most FTP programs let you drag and drop to copy files between folders. Here's how you'd setup a site to connect via SFTP in an FTP program. I'm using "xxx.businesscatalyst.com" which you'd replace with your BC subdomain address or top level domain if you have one attached to your BC site:
Password: -- your bc password --
Once you connect via SFTP with your FTP program you can drag and drop files or folders into other folders.
