Never heard of them. Waht are they supposed to configure?
I am attempting to send files (for a full color magazine) to China. I have been sending .eps files which have been giving us problems. Yesterday they requested a .pdf file. I have never used .pdf for press before. She replied that I should “appoint configuration files > do not apply in this document”. Being unfamiliar with .pdf’s I have no idea where to start.
Can you direct me on exporting .pdf’s for press?
OK, it sounds like there's a language barrier in play here. ID has a built-in PDF export library, and ships with a number of predefined PDF Presets for different purposes. You can also modify these settings to anything you want, and many printers will supply a custom .joboptions file that you can load and use.
You really need to get a better idea of the settings they want you to use, and the output color profile. Ask if they have a .joboptions file you can use, or if you should be using a standard like PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4.
