1. Re: Illustrator file not continusely rasterizing
Dave LaRonde Jul 24, 2013 7:29 AM (in response to federatedfilms)AE can continuously rasterize the VECTOR layers. Not the bitmap layer if you're still using it. In Illustrator, you should get rid of the bitmap layer when you're done with it. Don't count on using the bitmap.

Szalam Jul 24, 2013 7:32 AM (in response to federatedfilms)Are you "zooming in" by the comp viewer window, the scale option of the vector layer, or an AE camera?

Todd_Kopriva Jul 24, 2013 8:25 AM (in response to Szalam)As Szalam says, we need to know what you mean by "zooming in". Tell us the exact commands that you're using, what you're clicking, et cetera. Screenshots that show the Timeline panel and Composition panel help enormously.

4. Re: Illustrator file not continusely rasterizing
federatedfilms Jul 24, 2013 8:53 AM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)Ah yes I was zooming in via the comp pannel, just tried scaling up the layer and yes it does rasterize correctly!
I knew I was doing something wrong ;-)
Thanks for all your help.

5. Re: Illustrator file not continusely rasterizing
federatedfilms Jul 24, 2013 9:07 AM (in response to federatedfilms)Follow up issue - I have 400 odd layers in my imported Illustrator file. So I precomped it and then turned the pre comp into a 3D layer and then started moving around it in 3D, so all good, then I turned on Continusely Rsaterize and the image snapped back to a flat 2D view. So how do I keep the continues rasterization on and still flay around the image?

Rick Gerard Jul 24, 2013 9:18 AM (in response to federatedfilms)Make the layers in your pre-comp 3-D.

7. Re: Illustrator file not continusely rasterizing
federatedfilms Jul 24, 2013 3:53 PM (in response to Rick Gerard)Ok made layers 3D and that works, but when I turn on the pre-comp's continuesly rasterize option the comp renders in a strange rough texture instead of the smooth block graphics it was created in.
Comp output correct (though fuzzy) with continuesly rasterize off on precomp
Comp output grainy with continuesly rasterize switched on, on the precomp

8. Re: Illustrator file not continusely rasterizing
federatedfilms Jul 26, 2013 4:31 AM (in response to federatedfilms)Anyone got and thoughts on why the above issue is happenig with the pre-comp going all grainy when I turn on Continuesly Rasterize?

9. Re: Illustrator file not continusely rasterizing
Todd_Kopriva Jul 26, 2013 8:32 AM (in response to federatedfilms)The switch is not for continuously rasterizing nested compositions. For nested compositions, that is the switch for collapsing transformations. Continuous rasterization is only for layers based on vector footage items.

10. Re: Illustrator file not continusely rasterizing
federatedfilms Jul 26, 2013 10:57 AM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)Oh I see, so why would the pre-comp of my 400 odd Illustrator layers then render a tad soft in the final comp as though they were not contiuesly rasterizing (as you can see in the first image of my previous post)?
I have of course turned the contiuesly rasterizing switch on in the layers in the pre-comp.
Is there something else I need to do to keep the pre-comp continuesly rasterizing?
