Try closing the info panel if it's open.
Thank for the quick reply! — Info panel is already closed, and thumbnails in layers are turned off, same a dsiplay mode set to lower quality settings, but to no avail.
Interestingly it's more than just editting, the whole app is lagging as if the system is under significant load.
Even more interestingly, looking at Activity Monitor ‚ ID uses up to 90% CPU when in "Normal" screen mode, but in "Preview" screen mode, it only maxes out at 55%.
I am experiencing the same. When I paste a complex figure with lots of texts it takes up to 20 seconds for all the texts to show up.. really annoying.
Is the a place to adress this to Adobe?
Investigating it further I tracked the performance issues down to a file that has 1000+ objects on the page (A pasted vector from illustrator of radiating boxes — ID has converted it into objects instead of linked art because it was pasted in).
I am having the same problem! It has drastically hurt my production time. Ugh!
Driving me NUTS.
My computer: iMac, 10.6.8, 4GB Memory.
It makes no difference how the settings are, it's still so slow!!
same same. Even scrolling is a pain in the a**
InDesign CC painful to use (OS X, i5 3.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM, ID v.9.2.1), scrolling across page does not respond immediately to wheel input, zoom does not respond immediately to Alt-wheel input, and when it does it skips two or more zoom levels.
