I had a question regarding setting up the cache and tile size for uses with texturing 3d objects. The file size I work in ranges quite a bit but mostly falls under the 1024 x 1024 to 2048 x 2048 range. The layers very from around 3 to over 100, with many masks etc.
My machine has a 8 core CPU, 16 GB of memory, with an additional 3 dedicated to video. Windows 8 - 64 bit.
Could anyone give me an idea as to what to set these values to? I've read up on this subject and messed with the settings off and on, but changing these values doesn't seem to impact performance one way or another. I often will get stuttering when trying to pan an image, zoom, or similar actions.
I could be wrong, it just seems on a desktop with this much computing power and memory, Photoshop should run smoother than it does.
