adobelance Jul 25, 2013 10:27 AM (in response to quality11)Muse does not import HTML files. You'll have to create a new site in Muse.
You can copy and paste text from your browser into Muse, and it sounds like you have all the images from the old site, so rebuilding it in Muse hopefully won't take too long, and you can update the design as you like.

2. Re: Add an existing website to Muse
quality11 Jul 25, 2013 11:01 AM (in response to adobelance)Thank you. I'm confused, though. The original person made this site in Muse. So what do I do from there to start updating the site? If it was created in Muse you have to update it in Muse right?
Are you saying we have to recreate the whole site to use Muse?

3. Re: Add an existing website to Muse
adobelance Jul 25, 2013 11:14 AM (in response to quality11)Ah, if you have the .muse file used to create the site, you can just open it with Muse and edit as you like.

mac_heibu Jul 26, 2013 4:16 AM (in response to quality11)Just think of the .muse file as a Word document or a Photoshop PSD. Just doubleclick it and it will open.

7. Re: Add an existing website to Muse
agm 123 Jul 26, 2013 6:01 AM (in response to quality11)You will need the native .muse file, not the individual files exported from Muse to display the site.
The native Muse files contains all the pages of the site, built like a page layout program. The files you
see on the server are the pages exported out for the browser to de-code and display, they have the .html extension,
you need the .muse file extension. (which would be quite large depending on the size of the site 2-10 meg for example)

quality11 Jul 26, 2013 7:24 AM (in response to agm 123)Thank you. But where do I find this? I think you're saying it's not on the server. Would the person who created the site have to send it to me?

13. Re: Add an existing website to Muse
quality11 Aug 8, 2013 11:08 AM (in response to quality11)I got the files including the .muse file. Yea! I made a change to the homepage, I think. How do I get the change online now? Do I ftp it up there like normal html pages or...? I tried "Publish site" but it looks like it's saying that is to preview it online - it's asking for some .businesscatalyst link? Help. Remember, I develop sites so I am familiar with this stuff just not Muse.
Thanks soooo much!

JoshuaSprague Aug 8, 2013 11:13 AM (in response to quality11)You can either set up your own ftp details or export the site to HTML and then ftp manually to transfer them. Both of those options are in the file menu as seen here.
Hope that helps
