If you uninstall CS6, be sure to leave Encore installed if you plan to
author any DVDs (see the announcement at the top of this page).
Encore CS6 not installed with Creative Cloud
Do I simply delete the program/folder trees, or do i "un-install" ... ?
Don't delete folders willy-nilly, run the uninstall programs.
I would not delete CS6 until you make sure that CC works for you. I have not found that CC is ready for primetime just yet and will use CS6 until the bugs are worked out. If you are sure that CC is working for you, yes just uninstall the program and leave CS6 in the dust.
In the past there has been a very schizoid "pattern" to these updated-program cycles. Some programs change all their registration keys on up-dating, so un-installing the old one works fine ... some "leave" connections in place such that un-installing the old version dis-ables the new one, and one should simply delete the old version. Having had programs do both sides of the street, and having had the issues that come with not handling them properly ... I do approach this with caution.
Lr, for instance, has left a program folder with a few small files in it but typically removed the other older files. Neatly and cleanly. Though I note, "5" just added itself, didn't remove "4". Ah well ... now what does I do there I wonders I does ... I wish the people writing the install stuff would ALSO include the specific applicable deletion/un-install notes for this particular iteration ...
I know, "Dream .... dream dream dre-eam, ... "
im running both sidw by side and have not had any problems with 6, but CC is a mess. I'm not willing to give up 6 until I'm sure CC is worked out.
I only have CC until my subscription runs out so no.
