I have a still image/footage (a bright frayed globe) on a black background.
It's too difficult o apply a mask due to the fraying.
If I could somehow say make the black regions transparent - it would be great.
I suppose if I could set a mask somehow around the black background region I could then deal with it.
Searching thru help now while hoping someone will come up with an answer for me.
Effects --> Channel --> Schift Channel
Effects --> Channel --> Channel Combiner
Whichever gets it done, followed by a Levels adjustment to control the Alpha's gain/ opacity...
It would be a lot easier to assess the problem if you posted a pic and an explanation of what you're trying to achieve.
Oh - I found it roaming around the help files - an effect -> "Keying" --> "Color Key"
This effect lets you select a color, set its opacity with some parameters for tolerance etc.
Mylenium - will check out your suggestions soon - thanks
Andrew - thanks also but no need to bother you with that now.
