    InDesign CC Crash

    wtcadv

InDesign CC Crashed. Upon restart it functions, but the files cannot be saved. I have 10 projects that I switched to CC and now I am set to lose everything.

Please let me know how to save the open documents if at all possible. Or, how to save back to CS4 which is stable. I have 2 documents open that are critical and 8 that I have converted to CC and I am seriously regretting this move.

          Hi wtcadv,

You can certainly export the file to IDML which will help you maintain the work you have done in CC.

Go to File >> Export and choose "IDML" in save as type

The IDML file can be opened in InDesign CS4 or later version as well.

I believe the InDesign CC crash has corrupted the preference which may be the cause of this issue.

Once you have exported the file to IDML, you can close InDesign and reset the preferences

          Hope this helps

          Thanks,

          Manish
