You can not backup file wise blog posts. You mean you got the layouts files from the Layouts/Blog folder?

In terms of the blog posts themselves, once they are gone they are gone. You have to use history of the URL and try grab the sitemap or go in google a part url of the site...

          site.com/_blog...

And grab the cached versions from google and recreate them before the google cache is updated.

If you have a bog id and post id's you may be able to access them in admin.

Look through the stuff you backed up and see if you have these ID's. If so,

go to admin and replace the IDs inside URLs with those IDs you have and

            click Save.

            Cheers,

              Hi Liam,

I had already started doing this, I went and grabbed the sitemap with the full URLs and googled them, this brought up a cached page of the blog, i went in, grabbed the source code then ran it through dreamweaver and cleared it out, sent it over to the client and let them copy and paste it back into the system with the correct url paths.

Its a shame BC doesnt have a more robust failsafe for things like this, all deteled items should go in a bin and be deleted automatically after 30 days. This way for people who arent as tech savvy its a failsafe but also a added bonus for them to use BC.

              Thanks for your help.

Did you see my post about the DIV structure I am having a problem with between browsers? Still having a problem with it!
