svg is not supported for internet explorer 8 and below, but i dont think you are using that right?
Nope. Chrome, FFox, Safari (all latest). I think its our site that has them disabled for some bizarre reason. I'm looking into the problem with the dev team.
Sounds like you're already heading in the right direction. Not all webservers are configured to server SVGs correctly, so one of the first things you should check is to ensure that your server correctly supports SVG. You can check by looking at Chrome Inspector or Firebug to ensure that it's being served as img/svg and not as text or some other format.
Hope that helps,
Hi was this problem ever solved?
I dont want to open a new thread since this is nearly the same.
I'm running into the exact same issue. Except for mine the browser even tries to download the svg instead of opening it. I am using alot of coding though to interact with the illistrator layors in the SVG though so it maybe the same issue webbarr1 is facing and my webserver does not support SVGs correctly. I used chrome inspector and I will be very honest I'm not sure if its showing up as an img/svg. I have a website test set up that you can see here.
If it is the webserver I'm using GoDaddy's Windows Server. Is there something better you could recomend? or does GoDaddys Linux servers support it?
thanks for any help you can.
i have godaddy and have not problem with svg and interactive svg files.
Do you have the linux based one though or the windows one? I usually get linux but got windows on this one by mistake.
I do have linux.
Okay thanks hopefully that is the issue then..
I just marked my answer as correct. This really is an issue with server configuration and not about Edge Animate per se. However, I just cruised by to see your site and the link you posted 404'd. Let me know if you'd like me to look again once you get it up and running.
Thanks for the help Elaine.
It was indeed the issue. Go Daddy Microsoft server does not seem to support interactive SVGs once I switched the server over it solved the problem. I also found though that with the publish settings through Animate I ran into issues, where as if I just uploaded the saved HTML file without going through the "publish" method it worked. Hope this helps..
I am having the same issue. Chrome and Opera download the svgs instead of loading them. Edge is loading some correctly, some incorrectly, and not loading others contained within state buttons. You can see the issues at www.duoreves.com.
I too am using GoDaddy for PC hosting. When you say you switched the server over Joe, do you mean you switched to another hosting service instead of GoDaddy? Which did you switch too that configured svgs correctly.
Does anyone know if Buisness Catalyst configures them correctly?
