Do you mean that it is added to the symbol or it is inside the symbol?
Symbol instances (i.e., the element that contains the symbol) are not part of the actual symbol definition, and therefore actions added to the instance do not get exported with the symbol.
If you wanted to get the actions you added to a symbol instance exported, then you'd convert that symbol instance to a symbol, and then export that symbol.
What I meant is, when you right-click on a symbol and select 'Open Actions for "Symbol Name"'. The actions are on the symbol, not on the symbol's timeline. This code probably wouldn't get exported. Too bad! This is the code that I'm contsantly adding every time I add a button symbol to the stage.
The code I add to the symbol's timeline does get exported. Typically Stop commands.
I think I know the answer to my question.
Joe the second part of your answer doesn't make sense to me.
Are you saying I would make a symbol of the symbol?
Let me try that.
