    Incorrect App Manager updates

    PurplePlumUK Community Member

      Hi

My Adobe Application Manager (AAM) tells me there are no updates for CS6.

I've checked on the Downloads page on the Adobe site and find that there are a couple of updates for Dreamweaver.

I've checked the AAM preferences and the CS6 suite is listed there with ticks against them.

The message it's giving me that there are no updates for the Suite is clearly incorrect.

How do I force AAM to sort itself out?

      AAM version 7.0.0.414

      -----

Also, when I try to boot AAM via Spotlight, I get a message about Creative Cloud being missing (My Suite was purchased as a CD Disc). When I boot one of the applications and chose menu:  Help > Updates, the AAM appears. How do I cear this irritation up?

          Hello Purple Plum UK

          DREAMWEAVER CS6

          • Dreamweaver CS6 12.0.3 update to address HiDPI-compliance and resolve critical bugs.
          • Dreamweaver CS6 12.0.2 update to address critical issues

Above updates are available under :

          http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html

There are two ways to get the Update

          1) Manual : Go to the above Link and download the Update

          2) From AAM :

As you have issues with AAM - Please rename the OOBE Folder from the different Locations of your Computer and Retry the Update

Please remane the OOBE Folder to OOBE Old, then Run the Cleaner Tool and reinstall the Creative Cloud Installer Software

          Close browser

Remove AAM Detect Plugin from ~Library/internet plugins/

          Restart browser

Download and install the Creative Cloud application from creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud

          Or

Mac OS: /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder  (Rename it to OOBE_OLD)

To Run the Cleaner tool :

          Check the following Link

          http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

          Thanks

            Hi Mandeep

There's a lot to digest there. I'll need to come back for another look at all that, when I've got a moment.

Thank you. I've renamed the OOBE folder and tried the updater. Same message: "no updates". I'm then confused why your instructions appear to refer to Creative Cloud. I'm not a Creative Cloud user, my Suite was purchased as a CD.

I've attempted to manually update Dreamweaver and got an Update Failed: "

Dreamweaver CS6 12.0.1 update to address critical issues

            Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7"

Where I'm at is thinking of uninstalling the whole Suite and reinstalling it again. Though the Applications seem to be fine, I can only surmise, something is wrong with them.

Ok... I see. Manual updating's not fun because the info isn't there.

I mean under the applications About Dreamweaver menu item. It only displays the first digit after the point: "12.0 Build 5861" ... so you have no idea whether it's 12.0.1 or something else.

You have to go burrowing into the logs in Console. I saw it there 12.0.1 and thought: "that'll be why it failed, it's already got this update". I downloaded the next update in the list and that succeeded.

This'll be really tedious, so ideally I'd really like to make AAM get its act together. It's midnight here though, after a long day, so I'll have to wade through the stuff at the link Mandeep supplied tomorrow.

If anyone can let me know how I get the non-Creative Cloud AAM sorted, save me wading through stuff, I'd be really grateful. It'd help me out so much.

              Goodnight all.
