Look for the setting in the PDF export for Create Acrobat Layers.
that's what I did but it only lets me choose between "All layers" or "All visible layers". I would like to choose each layer separately. For example, hide all layers except the French text layer, and then export to a "French" PDF. Afterwards export the book to a "German" version by choosing the German text layers.
Apparently I cannot do that in the Export settings
Why do you need to omit the French layer for a German book?
Just export with all the layers.
Then, in Acrobat, turn off the French (Italian, Spanish, English?) and leave German exposed.
Save as "Meine tollen deutschen Buchmarkt.pdf".
Then, turn off all the layers except Frenh, and save it as "Mon excellent livre français.pdf"
I promise you that no one outside of a very few people will ever know that there are layers with other languages hidden. Hardly anyone who uses Acrobat knows there are layers at all. (Except the brilliant people on this forum)
Never thought of going through Acrobat to hide the layers.
I did a little test and it seems to work just fine. The files are slightly bigger in the end but still very usable, eve if I flatten all layers and optimize the PDF.
Thanks for the help :-)
I have to know. Any relation to Jean-Claude?
I'm his much smarter cousin.
and way better looking too
actually his real name is Van Varenberg, not Van Damme - so no relation.
But we're both belgian so that must count for something right ?
Oh that totally counts. You should be able to knock on his door and sit down for Sunday dinner.
