Is it possible to modify the "Show" link text that appears in a frameset when the TOC is closed? I would like to modify it to read "Show Table of Contents".

Yes, edit the .LNG file – via File > Project Settings > General tab > Language field > Advanced – you can edit a bunch of stuff in there.
