Embed video without needing Flash to view.

We have an Indesign CS6 file with an embedded video and exported to an interactive PDF. To view it, it says it needs Flash. Is there a way to embed a video without needing Flash? We have tried multiple formats: mp4, mpeg, mov, AVI and mpg2. It seems like Indesign exports the file as a Flash file.

MP4 is not a Flash format. If you placed it in a Digital Publishing Suite (iPad app) or EPUB, it wouldn't require Flash to play it. It would be played by the built-in media handlers of the iPad or EPUB reader.

However, Acrobat 9 or X, or Reader 9 or X use a built-in Flash player to play the MP4 files (as well as Flash formats like F4V). However, beginning with Acrobat XI or Reader XI, you have to have Flash installed to play multimedia in those applications.
