Can you reinstall CS6?
What have you done to try to install CC, and what's happening? What's your OS? We can't begin to help without complete information.
OSX 10.8.3 I'm not offered the option to reinstall CS6. In Creative Cloud, it only offers CC. When I click to download it, it hangs on a blue swirling circle on the pop up box, under Apps. Thank you for your time.
Sorry, just seen I can choose CS6 but the same thing happens, the blue swirling circle pops up.
Was CS6 also from a cloud subscription, or a perpetual license?
For the perpetual you need the original installer and your serial number (which you can find at the Adobe store online if you registered). If you don't have the original disk or downloaded installer, try
http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_c reativesuite6.html?start=10 and choose Try, or Download Adobe CS6 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools, but be sure you read and follow the directions exactly or it won't work.
If it was through the cloud,
Sign into creative.adobe.com and go to the download center. Click on
InDesign. Scroll down to to in this version and change the drop down to
(this may be out of date, but there is a way to get CS6 from the InDesign page once you've signed in).
Hi Peter, it was through the Cloud, I've just tried downloading CS6 but still get the scrolling wheel. Nothing is happening.
You can download CS6 through CC by visiting creative.adobe.com and
signing in. From there click on the download center link and choose
InDesign. Scroll down the page to "In this version" and from the
dropdown choose CS6.
Restart the computer and try again. I'm not sure if the network drivers sre loaded on Mac with a "Safe" boot, but you can try that, too -- hold down Shift while you start up.
I've tried this but it doesn't work, it just hangs, like with CC, thanks though for the suggestion. I've just seen a post re the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, should I try this?
You can try it, but I suspect it won't help. Are you using a browser for this part (I don't have CC installed yet)? If you are, try a different one.
Thank you Peter, I've no idea why rebooting it in safe mode makes all the difference, but it worked. I'm now downloading the latest version of InDesign. Many many thanks. I will sleep easy tonight!
Safe mode shuts off a lot of stuff that might be conflicting with the downloader.
