@mikehedge Aug 8, 2013 8:48 PM (in response to JSS1138)I would love to try that... seems like my nvideia is in conflict...
I only get a greyed out box in the display advanced settings..
looks like this:
http://windows7themes.net/nvidia-disable-hardware-acceleration-in-windows-7.html
any further ideas?
I have a Nvidia GTX 660 (probably not correctly syncing with Premiere pro cs55 as I do not have the ability to change the settings of it inside premiere

Turn off any shadows in the titles.

6. Re: Help fading a title over a fade out creates weird ghosting
@mikehedge Aug 8, 2013 9:16 PM (in response to JSS1138)I just followed this guys video regarding the GTX 660.
I was able to add it to the list, then switch the nvidia to compatability mode just like this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGFCfbHAmxg
in premiere I then was able to switch that drop down to software only...
I have no shadows set on the titles.....
just the black titles fading out on top of the still photos also fading out....
I did a test .mp4 export. worked fine (in 1920x1080)
this weird ghosting error is when exporting for DVD in .m2v
I just did another export as m2v.
Same weird ghosting just like in the youtubevideo above.

7. Re: Help fading a title over a fade out creates weird ghosting
Steven L. Gotz Aug 8, 2013 9:22 PM (in response to @mikehedge)Instead of using a cross dissolve transition, try keyframing the opacity from 100% to 0%.

8. Re: Help fading a title over a fade out creates weird ghosting
@mikehedge Aug 8, 2013 9:42 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)I tried that..
Here is what I'm trying now. I am adding a video track under both the title track and the track with the photos
I disabled the GPU thing... and deleted all my previews.
trying again.
I REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP.
I think it's a weird things with CS55 and various Nvidia cards/ CUDA ME stuff...
all a bit over my head.
I think it worked!

10. Re: Help fading a title over a fade out creates weird ghosting
Steven L. Gotz Aug 8, 2013 9:47 PM (in response to @mikehedge)Oh.
There is an easier way to do that. Without any dissolves on the individual clips, just nest the titles and the video together and apply the dissolve to the nested clip.
See if that is easier for you, should the problem ever return.

11. Re: Help fading a title over a fade out creates weird ghosting
@mikehedge Aug 8, 2013 9:57 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)I just have so many titles.
when things get nested I sorta loose track of where the individual items are.... can you unest things?
I guess I have never really gotten into nesting accept for when I want to edit several scenes, then pull those timelines into one master timeline just to see pacing etc.
but thank you for this idea. that may help with the weird titlefading thing...
I really can't imagine that I'm the only person using CS5.5 and trying to fade out a title on top of a still or video that is also fading out....
it must just be a weird mix of my card or something...
Huge thanks for helping!
for whatever reason adding a video track with a black video under both the two tracks, lets the fades work without the weird ghosting...
again thank you!
