I've been looking for scripts and help - didn't find nothing. Maybe i am looking with the wrong words.
However - i would simply like to automatically have the layer shown in the timeline as soon as i select it in the composition window. Sometimes there are so many layer that i will have to look for it. I know, i can just press p (for example) a few times and it will show. But this could mess up what i have already openend in this layer.
Is there a way to do that?
Working on CS6 / OSX
If you press X after selecting a layer in the Composition panel, that layer will scroll to the top of the view in the Timeline panel.
See After Effects Help. This tip is at the top of the section on selecting layers:
Thanks so much!
And, oh - i was there. Just didn't properly read/understand it.. maybe it's the wording: "To scroll the topmost selected layer to the top of the Timeline panel, press X."
Also my brain tends to skip italic Texts.
However. My workflow is flowing further! Thanks!
