Peter, thanks so much for your prompt response.
I've already deleted the .idlk file and reset the application preferences.
I can not find the Recovery Folder. This is where I'm looking (running on windows xp):
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 7.0\en_GB.
In this folder the are 4 subfolders (CompositeFont, Find-Change-Queries, Scripts, and Workspaces) and the following files:
- Clour Settings,
- InDesign defaults
- and several with a similar name to this: InDesign Def1916367968. These files are all exactly 2,768 KB
Do I have to delete all these files?
You're in the wrong folder. Sounds like XP, so the path should be C:\Documents and Settings\User\LOCAL SETTINGS\Application data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 7.0\en_GB\Caches\.
You don't need to delete anything else, just empty the recovery folder.
Thanks again Peter!
I don have such a folder as Local Settings in User...
Which version of Windows are you using? As I said, the path is the one for the InDesign SavedData file in the link above. It is subtly different from the one above it in the link. Are you showing hidden andsystem files in Explorer?
If all else fails, you can also do a Windows search for InDesign Recovery and set the search parameters to include hidden and system files and folders.
Peter, ID back and working!!
I found the Local Setting folder in User, and therefore was able to find the recovery folder (it was hidden in my system).
Thanks so much!!! You saved my project.
