This is nothing personal but why does everything have to be like FCP?
This is Premiere, go with the flow...
If you do not like the way its done or would like to see it differently file a...
I would go for mark selection-overwrite. Dont forget to target the track.
I don't want everything to be like FCP... I actually am liking Premiere a lot more than FCP. I was just asking if they have this feature that cuts a step out of this process. I searched for it, couldn't find it, and figured I'd just ask in case I missed it. If there is in fact no equivalent, I will definitely submit a feature request.
This may not be relevent here, but just in case: If you press alt and drag another clip from your media browser over a clip that's already in the time line, it'll replace that clip with the settings and trim of the clip that was there in the time line with the new clip. In other words, you don't keep both clips on the timeline, but easily replaces the one you were going to cover up - same length and otherwise.
...not only that, but it will adopt the previous clip's attributes/effects.
Very useful. I use it frequently - especially after a client preview :-(
That's not what I'm looking for, but I do love the replace edit! Made sure to map it to the keyboard!
