Trouble Downloading Flash Player

Download Flash Player indicates "Your System: Linux 32-Bit  Firefox"  I sected version tar.gz for other linux. I clicked on Down load now. I instructed Firefox to save the file, which took me back to Thank You, Your down load will start automaticaly.  Nothing happens.
