Converting currency/number to string?

Hello,

I have searched and also checked the documentation. I have numbers output from the DB that I need converted to strings for invoices.

Example:
DB outputs- "183.50"
Desired output format- "one hundred eighty three and fifty cents"

Any help or pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.
