Stan Jones Aug 15, 2013 9:58 AM (in response to jcsjohn2)Use John's suggestion.
A bit more here:

But I do not believe there was a resolution, nor do we understand the cause or what the variables are that produce this error.

jcsjohn2 Aug 15, 2013 11:34 AM (in response to John T Smith)I will try this, it's an apple imac i'm using, already spent countless hours onto adobe support team, I've tried burning my project to my desktop as a disc image and then burning it using toast and also from apple's file menu but nothing been successful yet, does imgburn work on macs?

4. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
John T Smith Aug 15, 2013 12:16 PM (in response to jcsjohn2)You did not say Mac in your original message... No, Imgburn is for Windows only
When you have Encore create an ISO on your hard drive... does it work to successfully create the image?

Yes, Toast is one of main options for mac that is doing the same function as ImgBurn. In "Encore-speak," you "built" to an image, and the location of the image was your desktop, right? And you got the same error message?

jcsjohn2 Aug 15, 2013 2:20 PM (in response to Stan Jones)no, it's burned to toast but the meu's i created in Encore weren't avalable for some reson and when I tried to burn the disc from apples file menu burn disc as instructed by adobe help team, the BDMV file just made a copy of the file which was not viewable on any my blu ray devices,

jcsjohn2 Aug 15, 2013 2:25 PM (in response to jcsjohn2)I originally edited my footage in FCPX and exported it to Compressor 4 where i encoded it for blu ray with dolby audio file. I have since then exported the file and imported in into premiere pro and after rendering the sequence, sent it straight to encore from the menu in premiere pro, I am currently trying to burn out of Encore without any menu's but the whole point of using Encore was to create the menu's. It's been about 3 hours at least now since i started to build and it it still transcoding. I hav 32GB Ram so computer speed is not an issue, the finished project is large tho, bout 1hr 54mins.

Use BD-RE for testing.

10. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
Stan Jones Aug 15, 2013 2:49 PM (in response to jcsjohn2)Why take it to Premiere at all? If you do, use a lossless intermediate, not a file compressed for bluray.
Your goal should be to export once to the Bluray file finals, and for Encore to see them as "Do Not Transcode."
If you are having any errors, do not dynamic link from Premiere.

11. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
jcsjohn2 Aug 15, 2013 5:02 PM (in response to Stan Jones)what I done was just exported the movie from FCPX as original, then imported it into premiere. I tried burning from encore with creating any menu's and it burnt perfect. I then added a menu using the same timeline and the error is back so I'm now thinking it's something to do with the library templates you get with Adobe Encore.

That is not likely, but something is going on.
So what worked is export frokm FCPX as what? (Original means what? Does FCPX use the ProRes intermediate or what?) Imported to Premiere and dynamic linked to Encore?
What are your Encore project settings? And what transcode settings for the asset?
You might want to post a screenshot of our flowchart where you added the menu.

14. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
jcsjohn2 Aug 16, 2013 2:35 AM (in response to Stan Jones)FCPX has a share function in the file menu where you can choose to share with youtube, vimeo, or export file in the format of the sequence, in my case was 1280x720 50p and that's what i exported my sequence as without going through any compression. Then i imported it into premiere and changed sequence settings to the format of the video. Then added chapter markers for Encore and sent it to Encore via the option in premiere. Burnt it without adding menu's which worked fine but with the same timeline and project, I just added a few menu's and tried it again and got the same error message. How do I post screenshots on here?

17. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
Stan Jones Aug 16, 2013 4:52 AM (in response to jcsjohn2)Thanks for the info. I'm not seeing anything that should matter.
exported my sequence as without going through any compression.
The pixel size etc helps, but what is the codec being used? How can an export not recompress? Unless it is using smart rendering? Is it not gop format material?
But that should not matter to this error (not that I can tell you what would matter!), and the main file works.

18. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
Stan Jones Aug 16, 2013 4:54 AM (in response to jcsjohn2)This one didn't work.
There is an added chapter in the time line?
I would try adding a single menu with single button, since menus seem to introduce the issue.
I wonder if a very short video, using your same workflow, would produce the error. It would make testing easier.

Stan Jones Aug 16, 2013 9:43 AM (in response to jcsjohn2)I like "as timeline." If not dynamic linked, demuxed (video and audio files separate) is best. Just select both files when you import "as timeline." Also, don't add multiple videos/audios on the same timeline (which you can do and sometimes works).

22. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
Neil Wilkes Aug 29, 2013 2:30 AM (in response to jcsjohn2)If you are using 1280x720@50p why is the project that fails set to 1920x1080@25i?
Not only are you scaling the footage but you are also changing the vertical resolution by turning 50p into 25i.
just curious.....

23. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
Markku001 Nov 23, 2013 11:01 PM (in response to jcsjohn2)Hello. I spent hours with this problem. I created the basic video and audio files with final cut pro and in encore I created chapters and menus. One solution tha worked for me was to change in project preferences audio transcoding to pcm. That really helped. Please create also first disc image and just after that burn the blyray.
This may depend on some codec files or settings. Any solution available?

24. Re: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File."
Julio Cesar Vargas Sep 24, 2014 8:48 AM (in response to jcsjohn2)Desculpe por responder em português.
Julio
