Does that update your screen correctly?
You didn't duplicate the nested comps for any reason, did you?
No, I had already tried purging memory, but it didn't help.
As for wether I had duplicated them or not, I don't actually recall what all I did to try fix the problem, but I didn't before it started.
I was able to create a work-around by changing camera and image movements in the nested comps, but even this turned out to be a bit sketchy.
The four nested comps fade in sequentially, and if I change the second one the first still shows the old animation right up until the second begins to fade in, at which point the first jogs into it's proper position.
I have got it working now, but only by work-around, and I am still really curious what I did there.
We need to know a lot more if we're going to help you. Please provide answers to the questions listed here: "FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?"
We especially need to know about the version number of the application and the third-party effects that you're using.
Ah, of course! My apologies, I was in a hurry and hadn't really thought out my question well.
I'm using AE CS6 v188.8.131.52, with no third party effects. I last updated today. I'm running it on 64 bit Windows 7 with SP1.
It's running on and AMD Bulldozer FX-8120 (8 core) with 16 gig of RAM, with an NVIDIA GeForce 550 Ti card.
I am running Quicktime version 7.7.3
What I have done is, within the Project window, created four new compositions. In each of these compositions all I have is a single still image and a single point camera. The camera tracks along the Z axis, either towards or away from the image, two of each. I then dragged these compositions from the Project window into my main composition.
Upon reviewing the timing we agreed that it needed tweaking. I went into each of the nested compositions and adjusted the timing in there. These changes worked normally in the nested composition, but they were not changed when playing in the main.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but this seems to be what is meant by "Update in one step" with regards to nested compositions. Am I misunderstanding something?
If you upload your project to a place where I can grab it, I'll have a look.
Unfortunately, I can't do that, it's dealing with fairly sensitive and unreleased corporate information.
Thank you for the offer, however!
And now, it's working properly as well.
I don't know what happened, but I did some more time changes just to see what would happen, and it's working.
Thanks all for their responses none-the-less!
