Install Acrobat XI Pro CC but keep purchased XI Pro?

    DavidB3 Community Member

I have both Acrobat X Pro and Acrobat XI Pro installed on my computer (Mac OS X 10.8.4). I have kept both because sometimes I have had a problem editing a file in XI Pro and could do it more easily in X Pro.

I have just upgraded from CS6 to Creative Cloud. If I install the CC version of XI Pro, will it uninstall the X Pro or XI Pro I currently have installed, or can I run all three of them? (Maybe there is no advantage to running both XI Pro versions?)

      Thank you,

      David

          Hi David,

The installer for Acrobat XI be it CC or standalone is same. it wont install 2 copies of Acrobat 11 but will provide you option for repairing or uninstall.

You can though convert Acrobat XI Pro retail license to part of your CC subscription by simply deactivating the software and using your Adobe ID to re-acivate it as your CC subscription is linked to the Adobe ID.

Thank you for this info--I appreciate your help.

Will the CC installer uninstall Acrobat X? (I want to keep running it.)

Also, what is the advantage of converting my Acrobat XI Pro retail license to CC? Won't the CC version just uninstall the license version anyway?
