I download books through iTunes for my e-reader, but also like to read on my desktop (Windows 7). I find that some titles open in ADE but others do not (although are recognising the book, and identifying title and number of pages. Why is this? Am I doing something wrong, or are some books protected from being read otherwise than on an e-reader.(I use an iPad mini as my e-reader).

What program are you using on the mini?

If it is an Adobe DRM compatible program such as Bluefire and you can read a book there, you should be able to read it on ADE authorized with the same ID.

I've been trying to read them in ADE. It works for some titles!
