@Intravic – wouldn't it be best to Export to PDF and give the printers the PDF?
PDF/X-1a (old workflows) or PDF/X-4 (up-to-date workflows)
Just out of curiosity and to make the IDML point clear: did you open the IDML in InDesign CC and are all the images linked and positioned correctly?
Hi. I package it to the printers because they do some photo shop work on the pictures for me to get the right brightness etc.
I just opened the itml file in indesign cc and the pic that was linked wrong at the printers links correctly for me. The two that were at 90 degrees (did I say 45 before? My bad. Forgot my maths!) Well, they are still positioned incorrectly.
If you have a CC subscription you can also download CS6. You should repair the file yourself in CS6 (.idml is not a reliable way to send things to printers), and repackage.
I have given up on CC. I do a bi-annual brochure for a client, and working on the CS6 file with CC is a nightmare.
Can you let me know where I download CS6 from please.
According to Bob Levine...
Sign into creative.adobe.com and go to the download center.
Click on InDesign.
Scroll down to to in this version and change the drop down to CS6.
On my system I already have CS6 installed, so I see it listed under updates in the CC desktop app, so you might want to just take a look there, too.
