2. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Aug 21, 2013 10:32 AM (in response to Kirsti Aho)Thank you for the assistance Kirsti.
Actually, I applied to a couple of programs and so far I've heard back from the one program, architecture. The other program I'm waiting for is a 1 year part-time Postgraduate diploma in marketing.
I've emailed Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education, but I don't think they understand what I'm asking.
Thanks again Kirsti!

ijnuh Aug 26, 2013 9:22 PM (in response to Kirsti Aho)Hi there Kirsti,
I guess the Hong Kong offices do not wish to answer?
I also changed programmes. I accepted the offer for a postgraduate diploma in IMC. 1 year, course duration - 216 hours.
I'm still not given answers if I qualitfy or not.

5. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Aug 27, 2013 10:02 AM (in response to Kirsti Aho)Thanks again Kirsti,
I wish there was an easier way to confirm educational pricing, like an actual list.
As stated earlier, I was in contact with a online rep but she didn't give me a straight answer. I contacted my school and I haven't heard back.
Thanks for your efforts, if you require more info let me know.

JohannZ Sep 4, 2013 8:57 AM (in response to ijnuh)Hi ijnuh -
We apologize for the long delay. I have been informed that students of the Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education are entitled to the Adobe education discounted pricing since the institute is part of the University of Hong Kong which provices diploma programs. You can print out this answer when contacting Adobe sales or an authorized Education reseller locally.

9. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Sep 27, 2013 6:39 PM (in response to JohannZ)I was told by Adobe Hong Kong that Part-Time students do not qualify for Educational pricing. Is this true?
I have called the Adobe office in Hong Kong and they referred me to another number. And the representative stated part-time students do not qualify....
Also, what is defined as equivalent to 2 years full-time study?
My program is a postgraduate diploma program/1-year/part-time/216 hours.
Do I qualify?
I'm getting 2 different answers.
Adobe has stated part-time students are eligible.
Adobe Hong Kong says NO. Only full-time students qualify
Identit-E has stated my program qualifies as equivalent to 2 years study.
Identit-E doesn't handle student verification in Hong Kong...
----------------------------------------------------------------
If part-time students do not qualify then that's unfortunate. But, if I do qualify with the below info then there's a huge communication problem between Adobe corporate and Adobe Hong Kong that's needs to be straighten out and corrected.
Postgraduate diploma program/1-year/part-time/216 hours

10. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 4, 2013 7:29 AM (in response to Kirsti Aho)Dear Adobe Worldwide Education Program Manager,
I feel you should know about the inconsistant answers I have been given regarding my academic eligibility.
I've been trying to confirm whether or not my program would qualify me for educational pricing since August 2013 and I've been given inconsistant answers.
My programme: postgraduate diploma program/1-year/part-time/216 hours
Institution: Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education
- I confirmed via Adobe Chat with various representatives that part-time students qualify for educational pricing.
- I have confirmed via the Adobe help forum that my institution qualifies for educational pricing. (Thank you, by the way for answering question.)
- I have confirmed with Identit-E via online chat that my program qualifies as equivalent to 2 years study. (Unfortunately Identit-E does not handle student verification in Hong Kong. I assume the discretion is up to Adobe Hong Kong.)
I have called the Adobe Hong Kong office to confirm if I qualify, considering Identit-E does not handle Asia, and they referred me to another nubmer for matters concerning academic eligibility. The representive stated quite clearly that part-time student do not qualify for educational pricing.
Whether or not I qualify doesn't change the fact that there are major communication issues between Adobe Corporate and Adobe Hong Kong.
Adobe online representatives have at least confirmed that part-time students qualify; however, Adobe Hong Kong has stated otherwise.
I'm being led in circles.
I hope I do hear back from you.
Sincerely yours,
Ijnuh, a part-time student at HKU SPACE

11. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 10, 2013 6:44 PM (in response to Kirsti Aho)Dear Adobe and Worldwide Education Program Manager,
Due to the lack of response I assume, yes, Adobe Hong Kong does in fact HATE part-time students.
Adobe has been constantly telling me, part-time students are eligible but Adobe Hong Kong is either incompetent in following/reading/interpreting guidleines or Adobe online staff aren't given the appropriate information on other regions around the world and is giving me false information.
Which is it?
My post just above explains everything.

13. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 11, 2013 1:16 AM (in response to katang@adobe.com)Hi Patrick,
Thanks for responding. I'm surprised Adobe Hong Kong would allow you to post your adobe email address and contact numbers. Normally, its hard to track down any form of contact info from any software company.
I sent you an email about 45min ago...
-------------------
Let's see how this unfolds.
In North America, my program is confirmed to be eligible for educational pricing by Identit-E.
In Hong Kong?

16. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 11, 2013 2:00 AM (in response to katang@adobe.com)sigh....as mentioned many, many times above. And in my email I sent you....over an hour ago.
Here's the situation once again...
I'm interested in the cs6 master collection. (I'll admit, I didn't initially mention the product in my other posts.)
I want to know whether or not I qualify.
My programme: postgraduate diploma program/QF Level 6/1-year/part-time/216 hours
Institution: Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education
-I had contacted Adobe Chat (3 times) they could only confirmed that part-time students are eligible.
-I had posted a question on the Adobe forums about whater or not HKU SPACE would qualify for for educational pricing.
Adobe Worldwide Education Programs repsonded and confirmed HKU SPACE is eligible.
-I had spoken to Identit-E, they handle student verification in North America, they confirmed that my program would qualify as equivalent to 2 years study. However, they had told me that in Hong Kong Identit-E does not handle student verification.
I phoned the Adobe Hong Kong office.
A woman answered and asked what I wanted. I told her I want to confirm my student eligibility. She gave me these 2 numbers to call to confirm my eligiblity.
2832 9322 - didn't answer the phone.
2565 1682 - the woman on the line repeatedly told me that part-time students didn't qualify. I had told her that Adobe Reps. online told me that part-time students are eligible. However, she stook to her stance and said only full time students. I do not have her name. -
17. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 11, 2013 4:55 AM (in response to ijnuh)Even with direct contact to Adobe Hong Kong nobody can answer me.
He replied to my emails but hasn't offered an answer...he introduced me to resellers before confirming if I qualify.
My threads have been up for weeks and it seems like he didn't read any of the posts.
--------------
Not to keep adding, but for the average poster or mod, reading my complaint/problem is optional.
But, if someone who works for Adobe as a employee, I expect he/she reads every post to see what's the problem rather than just indroduce me to another reseller....that wasn't my problem.

18. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 14, 2013 10:14 PM (in response to katang@adobe.com)Hi Patrick (Adobe Hong Kong),
have you enjoyed your Chung Yeung Festival holiday? (It seems like you'r on vacation until Oct 21.....I hope you transfered my problem to another employee. You've done nothing yet.)
You haven't helped me at all. It appears like you didn't read my posts at all which describe my problem. You simply forwarded a reseller to me. That was not helpful nor is it a solution.
I'm still waiting...And here's what I want to know once again..I'm aware you can read the past posts but it seems like you don't like spending the time.
1) In general, are part-time student eligible in Hong Kong? ( your distributor told me quite clearly that part-time student are not eligible. While Adobe Chat reps have said part-time student are eligible.)
Which is it?
2) Here are the spces of my program:
My programme: postgraduate diploma program/QF Level 6/1-year/part-time/216 hours
Institution: Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing EducationI was told by Identit-E that my program qualifies as equivalent to 2 years study.
In Hong Kong, does my program match North American standards of equivalent to 2 years?
Does my program program qualify me for educational pricing?
Thanks again for your attepmt to assist me. I seem bitter. That's because I am.
Message was edited by: ijnuh The Adobe Hong Kong emploee on vacation until the Oct 21....if he was focused on my problem rather than his vacation maybe he would've sovled this sooner rather than dragging it out.

19. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 15, 2013 8:02 AM (in response to ijnuh)Issue being resolved via email.
Although, its taking quite a while to sort out....what gives?
-----
Why troll this out longer than it has too....it doesn't seem to make sense to keep me waiting....
I got a response at around 5:40pm, then nothing.....why wait till the next business day to respond? There's still should be 20min left before the day ends....

20. Re: Is there a list of Adobe accredited schools for educational pricing?
ijnuh Oct 19, 2013 7:54 PM (in response to ijnuh)Solved.
-----------------
I did get the discount. So, thank you very much to Adobe and Adobe Hong Kong for understanding.
I've been told for months that I'm eligible by Adobe and in fact i wasn't. The online chat support has their information wrong.
Adobe Hong Kong, for its reasons, does in fact discriminate part-time students.
Adobe Hong Kong has heard my situation and staff have been pleasant dispite my bitter attidude. Sorry for that, Patrick.
