MOV is a wrapper... what is inside that wrapper?
Codec & Format information, with 2 links inside to read
-read both links in reply #1 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270588
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing
I'm baffled. I ran Gspot and it works swell on every file on my drive...except for the problem MOV files. It just sits there... It does say this:
File Type: QuickTime (.MOV)
Mime Type: video/quicktime
But otherwise, absolutely zero information comes up. Under "proposed codec solutions and tests, the "1" under MS A/V is lit. I click on it and get: "Rendering failed. Following is error reported by direct show: 0x80040266: [unknown]"
And that's it. If I go under file/play (using associated player), indeed, Quicktime launches and the file plays perfectly.
Additional information: I know this is an HD file; 1080/23.98Psf
Two more notes:
1. I tried everything on another computer; same issues.
2. I downloaded the demo version of Premiere Pro CC and....it works fine.
So maybe V5 can't handle this type of file?
By the way, after I got everything working with Pro CC, I tried Gspot again...still did not work.
Well, at this point, my problem is "solved", since I can use Pro CC on the project.
Premiere Pro CC is about as codec agnostic as they could make it. Glad to hear it included yours.
