I have followed just about every instruction set online for exporting an InDesign booklet to a PDF and am still unable to get the formatting correct. I have saved the file as a Postscript file and converted it via Acrobat Distiller to a PDF, but the paper size and layout are not converting. My booklet has 8.5 x 14" spreads and thus needs to be printed horizontally on USLegal paper. When I make the conversion to a pdf, it automatically switches to 8.5 x 11" paper and cuts off the edge of the pages. I have also tried to download Acrobat 9.0 PPD as instructed and this didn't work either. It failed to show that version in my driver options in InDesign. Any further suggestions?
Don't use postscript with InDesign! No EPS, no PostScript-Printing, no Distiller. Neither for import/place nor for output/print.
Use Export PDF.
// OK, I see booklet, that is different. I never do imposing in InDesign, I let do it the printer.
Let's back up and find out WHY you want to do this. Generally speaking it's not necessary and could in fact cause problems when submitted to a printer.
If you really need to do this because you are printing in house you need to go into the distiller settings and reset the page size.
