Getting rid of scaled type in alternate layouts [example: 6.91 pt(7.39)]

When I create an alternate layout, two sets of paragraph styles are created. But, even when I apply the new paragraph style that says "12pt" to this auto-scaled text, it shows up at 12pt(9.3), and is 9.3, not 12. how can I get it to be actual 12pt size and not 9.3?

I've been copy and pasing content in a next text box as I've found that the only way to get rid of the scaled properities.

Is there a way to get rid of these two text sizes efficently and quickly? Perhaps document wide?
