Is Layer>Video Layers>New Blank Video Layer greyed out or what happens when you try?

You do have a document open?

Hello, you still haven't replied on an important question: if you are running a version of Mac OS lower than 10.7, you will not have the video abilities: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/whats-new.html#Product-level%20changes

That said, it should not be the case with CS6. What version are you running?

A screenshot might still be helpful.

Also, could you paste the contents of the Help>System Info from within photoshop?

Another thing might be you have the video menu visibility turned off under Edit>Menus

(not likely, but worth a look)

Make sure your system meets the specs of photoshop

Make sure your video driver is up to date.

Look at the preferences and see if you have enough ram set aside for photoshop

Make sure quicktime is installed

Other things to try -

reset preferences {ctrl-alt-shift (windows) cmd-opt-shift (mac) when starting photoshop

uninstall photoshop then reinstall.

If you are having a problem, it would be wise to capture your entire screen so some answers can be solved. Make sure you post what version of photoshop you have and the version of OS you have as well.

Like I said, capture your screen and provide some information, if you need help. We can not guess in the dark.

i'm having the same problem. it's very annoying, especially since there is no solution i can find anywhere. i'm running windows 8.1 64 bit 12gb ram 17 processor so it's certainly not a system limitation causing this. The video panel option doesn't even exist under the layer menu! idk what's going on! i even installed quicktime and reset preferences for this but no, same story.
