it was dropped because flash cc doesn't support as2 and it makes no sense to apply actionscript to a symbol using as3.
in addition, it should never have been used in as2 (but that's another story).
you can still apply the actionScript property to a frame object.
Ah, right you are! I guess we were using the AS2 method of grabbing the actionscript from the object, versus the AS3 method of grabbing it from the frame. Thanks much!
