Before tossing the previous computer, did you de-activate your copy of PrE?
If not, then it is still probably showing as being installed and activated on that machine, and another, as one can install PrE on two personal computers.
As John T. points out, this is something that needs to be taken up with Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support), as they can reset your activations, etc..
John has given you the links, and I would start with Adobe C/S Live Chat.
The link that I use and have had success with is the one the John T. Smith is now suggesting (along with several others).
I would suggest that you go directly to the one
Click on "I still need help" to get the Adobe Chat pop up and let Adobe Chat quickly and effectively take care of the
matter for you. That is the place to be.
