Using Photoshop Cs5 And InDesign Cs5.5
Sorry the error message is
Failed to Open the PDF.
I can open the PDF in Photoshop and all the text layers are retained just fine.
Not sure what happened.
I noticed FAUX BOLD was applied (that's what I get for using Shortcuts I guess..)
I took this off and put on real Bold.
Tried to Drag and Drop the PDF in and got the same message.
Then I tried File>Place and Show Options
And it imported just fine.
Plus now I can drag and drop the image in too.
The only problem I have now is when I go to
Edit With>Photoshop CS5
It tells me it's not a file that's supported....
What Color space did you use? Do you use indicated RGB (as it is used in GIFs)?
Well I want to print this eventually - or have the option.
I converted the original file from index to CMYK then converted it to Gracol Coated (what is mostly used here)
I then proceeded to remove the text and lines I didn't want.
I added text layers using 100% Black text to replace all the text in the file.
For now it seems to be resolved though.

Change the file extension to PDP and it will be recognized as a Photoshop
PDF. Also, if you show options when placing it usually clears up the can't
place error message.
Thanks Bob - after I did the Show Options (earlier post) it did clear up the issue.
Never thought of changing the File Extension - interesting. I'll give that a go too.
