The simplest workaround is to use the version that provides the features you want. CC has alot of useful features removed.
SWF import has been disabled in Flash CC and mostly due to security concerns and large number of crashes it could potentially cause.
If you have the source fla, reusing your content by copy pasting layers from the timeline should help you accomplish your tasks easily. Otherwise, you'd need to use Flash CS6 to import any SWF and create an Fla file out of it.
Kinda crazy. You can export text animations as vector SWF from After Effects CC but cannot import it in Flash CC.
You have to download version CS6 (which is possible still) and import with that. Then you can copy paste frames if you want or open the old .fla file in Flash CC.
They should fix this though! Crappy...
