Hello people, I have Premier 5.1 which I used in my old editing system running Windows 95 or 98. After a crash and non usage I wanted to stick it on my laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) it would seem to be incompatible even trying the troubleshooter. Do I have to buy a new version or is it possible to download any updates or anything to make it work. I don't do it for a living anymore, just for holiday vids.
You'll most likely have to update. Which in this case means buying a new version. However, I recommend giving Premiere Elements a try -- it's cheaper and should be less of an operational shock to what you're used to with the old Premiere.
If you have Win7 64bit PRO read below... otherwise, ignore this and do what Jeff said

Thank you Jeff, thank you John. Looks like the only way to go is with Elements. Much appreciated for the confirmation.
