Download problems for flash player in windows 7

My operating system is Windows 7 and I have tried in vain to download an upgrade from adobe flashplayer.  I have done all the suggested things and lastly deleted the old version from my programs and still nothing happens and I also checked if the program was compatible..  Please advise...anyone!!!

I do not quite understand what your problem is; "in vain" and "nothing happens" does not really describe anything I can understand.
