I have AE CS6 on my laptop and desktop machine. I also have AE CC on both. When I try to import an AvidDNxHD clip into After Effects CC I get a beach ball. There must be something wrong with the Avid codec, since it works with AE CS6 perfectly. What might be the problem.
Just bumping this as I can't believe no one has anything to say about this. If people have working DNxHD import then can they get back to me so I can investigate further.
Check updates for AE and from Avid. Make sure you don't have any funy codecs installed.
What kind of DNxHD clip? QuickTime container using the DNxHD codec? MXF OP1a? MXF Op-Atom?
If it's QuickTime, then don't install any extra components. After Effects CC (12.0) natively imports DNxHD files, and it's possible that some extra QuickTime importer component that you've installed is colliding with what After Effects installed.
