We have a CS extension written in Actionscript for InDesign CS5. Part of the interface has an mx:TextInput.
With the INDD native menu shortcuts disabled, I am able to select all (Ctrl+A is captured by the "selectAll" event) and to type a "euro" symbol (French keyboard: AltGr+E).
However, on another machine where the native menu shortcuts are still in place, neither of these two operations are possible. Ctrl+A selects all the frames in the document, and AltGr+E seems to do nothing. Interestingly, Ctrl+C (copy) and Ctrl+V (paste) both seem to work fine.
I've tested and this works on native INDD windows (I can select-all and type a € in the name field for a Layer). Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be here, and how I could get this functionality to work in the TextInput?
There are various focus problems with CS Extensions depending on the exact modifiers and operating systems.
There's not a lot to do about them other than add a context menu or UI element to duplicate the functionality...
