If it performs well when the client is in the US, then there isn't much choice other than to move the server closer to India. There are "edge networks" and "mirrors" that may be able to help.
But if you transfer large chunks, transferring smaller chunks may also help. Only transfer what you need and get the rest later.

My application have different type of request, some are very small request and transfer little amout of data from server to client, some request are send very huge amount of data from server to client .
I am using JSON from data transfer in my current web service.
