    website crash on Ipad

    nspatola

I'm developping a responsive website in Adobe Edge

It's ok on desktop but on Ipad it's crashing (maybe on any other tablet ?)

      Images on site < 1024px

I think it's because of css animation (?)

Or maybe too much css or js ? I don't know

It's very hard to debug !

      Any experience of this ?

      Any recommendation ?

      Thanks in advance

      Noël

          Hey Noël,

          WOW! Awesome site!

          Which iPad/iOS are you running?

          Sarah

Update: I checked it out on my iPhone 5 (running iOS7) and it worked just fine.

One tip: you might want to add the following code before your closing </head> tag:

          <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0;">

This will make it so the website fits the viewport on initial load for mobile devices (it was a little zoomed in when I first loaded it)

            Hi Sarah,

I already add this line, thanks.

I've to change some visual for smartphone version.

Here my problem is on Ipad3. The site is loading and after 1 second (I think when it executing code to manage pages) it crash... :/

So today I try to separate things and load some parts at different time with edge commons

              Hey Noël,

Took a look at your site on my iPad 3, I'm seeing the same thing.

I did an inspection on your site and there's a LOT of onElementsResize events firing. I wonder if this is the culprit? That many callbacks could easily crash an iPad.

If you want to zip up your project, upload it and pass me the link I can take a look.

              Sarah

                Hi Sarah,

I spent whole day to remake website specially for tablet with absolute positionning (so delet a lot of css)

                AND

display none a part of the site, and when scrolling at the bottom I display all the rest of the site

                I send you my project

                Thanks

PS. I think it would be very interesting if Edge can manage all CSS in left side of IDE (position relative, float, etc...) because here for example I had to rewrite all the css in composition ready

Very nice site. Works on my iPad - même si je ne bouge pas!
