Why do I get scratch disk error "The scratch disks are write protected or unavailable. To open this project, the scratch disks will be set to your Documents folder. Would you like to continue?" When I click yes the premier pro cc session opens. When I go to render a effect or output video I get a window "adobi media encoder error compiling movie.
I am using a new Imac with os 10.8.4
So did you start the project on this mac? Under the same user profile?
Did you set up the scratch discs initially to a drive and folder where you had permissions?
Did you check the permissions of the Scratch disc folder with the mac info dialog?
Are you sure that you have enough space on the hard drive for your project?
Is all of your media a standard format, and does the project and all media live on one of your hard drives and not a CD, DVD, Thumbdrive, or networked folder?
There are a lot of things that could cause issues, and you did not offer too much information to start with.
Try creating a new folder where you want the project to live, and after opening the project, save to the new folder.. Then set all your scratch disc options to "same as project".
I am using the creative cloud version. Could the problem have anything to do with signing into another computer with my account and not signing out? Yes to all above questions. Thanks!
