Pixy1975 Sep 11, 2013 6:23 AM (in response to Laurent De Wilde)I also had this error and Apple will approve your app but suggests you fix the icons for next delivery. My issue is I don't know how essential those icons are. I know they are both meant for iOS 7 and I want my icons to be viewed correctly on the new software but I don't know where to incorporate those icons into the builder? I have rejected my binary in iTunes Connect and now don't know if I should risk loosing my app name, SKU and bundle ID by deleting and starting over! Wish the DPS Step-by-step guide would've incorporated info for iOS 7!

MarcioCamollez Sep 11, 2013 7:40 AM (in response to Graham bu)I had the same error now but tried again and it looks like it worked for me.
Verify that the version number of your config.xml is the same of created on Itunes Store
In my case I had created an update in xml with version 3.0.0 and when I create the update on itunes store, I put 3.0 only.
I create again with the same number and apparently works for me until now
Sorry for the confusing English, i am brazilian =)

Graham bu Sep 11, 2013 3:29 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Thanks Bob,
I also found this in some other threads after I posted the question. We spent hours trying to work this out and it would be helpful if known issues could be shown somewhere that we could all check. It woud save us all a lot of time - including Adobe.

Graham bu Sep 11, 2013 6:10 PM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Hi Neil,
That's great. Thanks for setting that up. That explains the Versiioning glitch.
Can you throw some light on the icons request - I understand now that app builder has no facility yet for the 2 additional icon pngs and that Apple is a little ahead of the app builder. Some other users also found this confusing.

you say that the week release will adjust this problem, I must rebuild the App on monday? And upload the App after Apple review as an update?

12. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 13, 2013 5:28 AM (in response to Massimiliano Sampietro)Right now Apple is still accepting submissions without the new icon sizes. If you want to ensure the best experience on iOS7 devices by including the new icons then yes, next week you'll have to rebuild your app to add the new icons and then resubmit to Apple.

herman@magnusmedia Sep 14, 2013 1:58 AM (in response to Graham bu)hi Neil,
just uploaded a new r27 App with ALL icon sizes (also the new ones) but got the error below.. i've rejected the app, build a new folio and a new app (with app builder v2.8) but error stays the same.
My app is a new one so I want it to be published in iTunes as version 1, don't know where the 1.0.2 is coming from..
Version Mismatch - Neither CFBundleVersion ['3.2.3.3.87970'] nor CFBundleShortVersionString ['1.0.2'] in the Info.plist match the version of the app set in iTunes Connect ['1'].
Any idea's about this ?
Thanx in advance,
Herman Belgy

ronturonpolvoron Sep 17, 2013 8:21 PM (in response to herman@magnusmedia)Hi Magnus,
You just need know what Marketing Version you are submitting. In DPS App Builder it shows what Marketing Version you have:
i.e.
Marketing version: 1.0.2
*But, actually it's the recent version which is 1.0.1
Edit the version in iTunes Connect to 1.0.1, then submit the app.
Thanks!

17. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
herman@magnusmedia Sep 17, 2013 11:27 PM (in response to ronturonpolvoron)thanx ronturonpolvoron,
I have tried to change this version number in iTunes connect and this is possible.
But where is that Marketing Version number coming from ?
I'm sure I'm building version 1 and inside the DPS App Builder it says 1.0.3.
Think it's autogenerated but can I change this back to 1 ?
At this point, the app is submitted for 4 days so I think it's better to wait for Apple's approval before changing the version number, or are you sure the app will be rejected for this reason ?

18. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Lohrii Alo Sep 17, 2013 11:56 PM (in response to herman@magnusmedia)At this time, we have not heard Apple rejecting apps because of the version mis-match, it's rather a warning. So we suggest you wait for the approval to save time to have to re-submit another version.
If for any reason Apple reject those apps, DPS support can help you correct it. The correct versioning nomenclature is 1.x.x which is what DPS uses in the marketing version too. Hence, you also follow the same nomenclature in iTunes Connect for the version number to match from the binary file with that of iTunes Connect version

21. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
ronturonpolvoron Sep 18, 2013 3:04 AM (in response to herman@magnusmedia)No problem!
I believe that you can't change the Marketing version since its autogenerated. What I do is; everytime I download the distribution.zip I put it in a new folder and rename it "v27 1.0.1", "v28 1.0.2", etc. So that I could remember what marketing version it is. Now it would be easier to track it.
For your last question, I don't have any clue if it will be rejected, since I just submitted our app today. However, I have been told that before this problem came out, our app was rejected due to the version mismatch and Apple is being strict with the requirements.

22. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 18, 2013 9:01 AM (in response to ronturonpolvoron)We have just released a hotfix for the issue where App Builder was listing one marketing version, but the resulting app that you submit to Apple had a different version included. We believe this is the root cause of the problems being mentioned in this thread.
This is a server-side change that does not require an update to the App Builder client. Please try going through the App Builder wizard again, download the resulting app, and let us know if you still encounter problems.
Thanks,
Neil

25. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 19, 2013 8:19 AM (in response to Kathrin_DPSA)We released an update to App Builder yesterday that resolved an issue where we were creating apps that had a version number inside one lower than it should be.
Even with that fix Apple is still being stricter about upload requirements. The warnings people are seeing now are just that: warnings. If you want them to go away you need to go into iTunes Connect and edit the version listed there so it matches the one shown in App Builder.

29. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
csb_dev Oct 30, 2013 6:30 AM (in response to Lohrii Alo)Is the version number, or at least a major/minor, is editable within App Builder? (of in the Folio builder of InDesign?) The mismatch is not just a warning by Apple, it is shown when viewing info in iTunes post release. I would like these to be consistent if possible.
-
30. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Bob Bringhurst Oct 30, 2013 6:43 AM (in response to csb_dev)You can change the version number in iTunes Connect.

31. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
csb_dev Oct 30, 2013 8:08 AM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)iTunes connect I did not think adjusted the plist file within the app bundle. We have one app that is not on 3.1, however, the guide still states the version is 1.0.24. Is there a way to up the major/min version numbers in App builder/InDesign to adjust the known version to 3.1.24 (where 24 is the auto-incremented Adobe number?).
-
32. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Bob Bringhurst Oct 30, 2013 8:18 AM (in response to csb_dev)No, you can't use App Builder to change the version numbers. If you want the version numbers to match, you need to make the change in iTunes Connect.
-
33. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
csb_dev Oct 30, 2013 10:31 AM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Ok, I found the number I was thinking of: the "Folio number" (which is only editable on the web under the folio producer?) - my question would be where is this used, other than to be appended to the "Publication name"? What is this number intended for?
-
34. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
csb_dev Oct 30, 2013 10:37 AM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)If I adjust the marketing version in iTunes Connect to match the version in the plist generated by the DPS system, is it possible to update the major/minor version number within DPS? Otherwise I would think I would eventually get to 1.0.142 after a number of updates and build revisions.
If I understand correctly, iTunes will display the plist version number (not the iTunesConnect/AppStore version number) when reviewing the app with "Get Info" - hence why I am trying to work out a process that makes sense and is understandable for the user, for support, and for our development/publishing team.

37. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Pierluis Jan 14, 2014 7:41 AM (in response to Bob Bringhurst)Hi Bob,
first of all thank you for all your so precious informations!
I have received today 14 January the same kind of warning (Version Mismatch - Neither CFBundleVersion ['3.4.2.12.91210'] nor CFBundleShortVersionString ['1.0.12'] in the Info.plist match the version of the app set in iTunes Connect ['2.0'].) and I just would like to know if as far as you are concerned this warning still does not affect the approval of the app!
I have changed in iTunes Connect the version number in order to match the "CFBundleShortVersionString" (1.0.12) without rejecting the app, now it is in the "Waiting for review" status: do you suggest just to wait and see what happens or do you think I should rebuild and submit again the app?
Many thanks and Best Regards from Italy :-)

38. Re: App Update error "Version Mismatch"
Bob Bringhurst Jan 14, 2014 10:11 AM (in response to Pierluis)No, this "Version Mismatch" warning does not affect the approval process.
More details: The problem is that the Bundle ID is auto-generated in DPS App Builder and manually specified in iTunes Connect. The iTunes Connect version is what appears in iTunes and the App Store; the Bundle ID from App Builder doesn't appear anywhere to the public. Most iOS developers use Xcode—not a third-party tool like DPS App Builder—to build apps, and they can edit the Bundle ID in both Xcode and iTunes Connect. However, DPS App Builder auto-generates the Bundle ID in App Builder and doesn't allow it to be edited, and Apple is letting you know that your Bundle ID values have a mismatch. But the mismatch doesn't matter to Apple.
In a future web-based version of the App Builder, you'll be able to edit the Bundle ID. Until then, you can either ignore the warning, or edit the Bundle ID in iTunes Connect to match the value from App Builder (which I think is a waste of time).
