Normally Copy "Effect" from clip and Paste to another will work fine.
OK, it works. I didn't realize at first that it adds an additional light, instead of replacing the light that was already there. So after doing the paste I need to turn off the effect on the original light.
You could remove all the effects first and then do a paste.
Removing all the effects wouldn't work for me because it also removes the frame zoom. What I normally do is to cut a single take into scenes, then zoom into differnet parts of the frame in each scene, to to create closeups, giving the appearance of having used several cameras. Removing the effects, brings the scene back to full frame.
You can remove effects selectively. The zoom would be in Motion and you can leave that unchecked.
Maybe I'm missing something. I can remove the effects from the new scene, leaving the motion in tact, by leaving motion unchecked. But when I copy the effects from the previous scene (with the lighting I want, but the motion I don't want) then when copy attributes to the new scene, I get the motion as well, changing the new scene's frame of view, which I don't want. So whie I can leave the motin unchecked on remove effects, I don't see a way to selectively not copy the motion when I paste atttributes.
Graig said Paste not Paste Attributes.
Remove all effects from other clips.
Select first clip.
Go to the Effect Controls window
Right click on effect (lighting) and Copy.
Now select all the other clips in the timeline
Paste (Ctrl+V or Edit / Paste)
OK ... sorry Ann. I finally understood what you are saying and it does work. Took a while! Thanks!
