Pierre Courtejoie Sep 12, 2013 4:09 AM (in response to JasonRodwell)Hello! Looks like you do not have the 14.1.1 version, if you are certain to have run the correct update, try to log out and back in your creative cloud account. Otherwise, go to the CC application, and run the updater.

JasonRodwell Sep 12, 2013 4:14 AM (in response to Pierre Courtejoie)OK thanks that helps. I've just checked & an update is available so I'm I'm installing that.
As I'd downloaded & installed it today I assumed it was up to date.
Thanks very much for your help.

Jessie-vp Sep 12, 2013 6:03 AM (in response to Community Help)Hmmm - annoying feature: when deselecting generate -> image assets, it also deletes the images you made? (I can't just select it again since I altered those images manually to make stretchable buttons etc - selecting the option again would give me the old images (thats why i deselected it in the first place).)

AlanRalph Sep 14, 2013 9:04 AM (in response to Community Help)Just a thought - would it be possible, in a future iteration of Generator, to recognise vector object layers - either drawn using the Pen tool in PS, or imported as Smart Objects - and support export as SVG?

Snakedogman Sep 25, 2013 3:59 AM (in response to Community Help)Suggestion: can you make it possible to input only either horizontal or vertical size for the generated assets, and have Photoshop generate the image asset with "constrained aspect ratio" automatically? Now I have to first go into the resize image dialog to look up what the correct size would be, before entering that into the layer name. I know I could use percentages to make it easier, but for the images I'm working on now, they need to be a specific horizontal width in px.

11. Re: Photoshop Help | Generate image assets from layers | Photoshop CC
jonesology Oct 3, 2013 3:13 PM (in response to Snakedogman)That was my exact question @Snakedogman: Is there a way to give only one variable for the dimension (height or width) and let PS automatically calculate the other when it exports the asset? If not, that would be an AMAZING addition to this already AMAZING feature. Thanks.

12. Re: Photoshop Help | Generate image assets from layers | Photoshop CC
dannehr Oct 4, 2013 2:42 AM (in response to Community Help)Adding a margin feature would be awesome.
eg: logo.jpg+10px
The end result would be the image with 10px of extra white-space on each side.
More awesome would be "logo.jpg+10px5px10px5px"
So you could define the extra space for each side following the css standard, top right bottom left.
This could come in handy if you want to generate buttons for let's say an iOS app. Imagine you have a tiny help button that is 20x20px, if you import this the standard hit state will be small (the 20x20), but if you add an extra whitespace margin the hitstate will be much bigger than the icon itself, making it more user friendly to tap on the button.
Please consider this feature. Thanks!

13. Re: Photoshop Help | Generate image assets from layers | Photoshop CC
foxwerk Oct 8, 2013 6:07 AM (in response to Community Help)Unfortunately - for whatever reason, Generator doesn't scal correctly for me. I have a layer named:
'512x512 AppIcon-512.png,36x36 AppIcon-ldpi.png,48x48 AppIcon-mdpi.png,72x72 AppIcon-hdpi.png,96x96 AppIcon-xhdpi.png' (without quotes) and while the 512 icon is generated correctly, most - not all - of the other layers are not. E.g. the 72x72 icon is 73x74 in size, the 36x36 icon is 37x38 in size...
How can I fix this?

practice May 27, 2014 8:26 PM (in response to foxwerk)I run into this same exact problem. It happens if I set the output size by percentage OR if I specify an exact dimension, the vertical height is incorrect. I was completely loving this feature and ready to jump from 5.5 to CC and I can't figure out a workaround for it
blog@2x.jpg50% + 1487x456 blog.jpg
The second image creates a 1487 x 597 image, the first one correctly sets quality of the image at 50%.
and blog@2x.jpg50%, 50% blog.jpg
Both produce misshapen images with the incorrect aspect ratio.
